Hello,

My flytrap started sending so short leaves close to rhizome, is that a good sign, is it dormancy?

Will a plant without dormancy never flower?

That's a lovely plant and a great photograph. It certainly does appear to be going dormant. A plant without dormancy will flower.

BTW, you should post that picture in the photo contest.

Notice how the newer traps are healthy looking but smaller and closer to the ground. You will also see that all new growth will get real slow and will eventually stop entirely. The good news is, given reduced light and reduced temperature, they will know when to go dormant and be ready for it.

I just saw this picture and the leaves look different, short yes but too wide, and mine are really thin.

Different cultivars will look different in dormancy what they will have in common is smaller growth, ground hugging leaves, and limited growth.
