I bought one of those Venus Fly Trap/Pitcher Plant growing kits from Lowe’s a few weeks ago and I’m finally seeing some traps starting to grow. Problem is, the fly traps are completely bleach white. I think I might have over watered them, but I’m not sure. Does anyone have any care suggestions, or are these traps a lost cause?

I’ve had a lot of weird things happen with fly traps but I’ve never had a plant turn this color before.

It's probably been so starved for light in that cube for weeks and weeks. Was it greener when you first bought it? It should get greener when it gets more accustomed to the light.

It was dormant in the cube when I got it. I took it out of the cube and planted it in some soil with moss on top. It’s been kind of cloudy here, but hopefully once it gets a little sunnier it’ll get some color back. I checked the roots and the rhizome. Some of the roots are brownish, but the rhizome is still mostly white, so I think it should recover with a little less watering and some more sunlight.
