Been repotting my some of my venus flytrap and been doing so without any problems. But on a google search I found an article where they cut the traps of the plant after repot. The same goes for the leaves that they want to propagate.

Is there a reason why they cut the traps of the leaves after a repot? Also the same questions for the leaf propagation.

I can't think of any reason to to this on a flytrap. If the traps are green, then they are helping with photosynthesis. I understand cutting back leaves/traps on a larger leaved plant like nepenthes to reduce moisture loss, but not for flytraps.

possibly to prevent the plant from using trap/digestion energy and focus it entirely for regeneration? i don't know. i'm guessing here.
