I am putting my vft in a garage for its dormancy. It will not be getting light but the temperatures are 35-40 Fahrenheit. How should I ease my plant in and out of the garage?

When the night time temps get to about 35°F, it's probably already well into dormancy, put it in the garage and keep it damp.
In the Spring, when the temps stay above freezing at night, put it outside.

I realized after the fact that I may be perceived as sounding a bit "bitchy" in my response, please realize that it was not my intent. It was just the most succinct way to describe the process.
