So, these two pots of CP is using sphagnum from a particular local seller, i see these green tiny stalks coming out of it, i know its not algae cause ive seen algae before on sphagnum. sp is this sphagnum not dead? also does this mean the sphagnum is not imported from say america continent?

That is a weed you can see the seed in the last picture.

so, should i do something about it?

that spagnum from the local shelter may be from amazon or this brand: SuperMoss (22330) Orchid Sphagnum Moss Dried, Natural, 2.4lbs Small Bale
i've had exactly the same type of weed grow in my pots but i've never seed the green tip. it might just be alge growing in a concentrated spot, if it spreads backwards that's alage, if it actually gets bigger maybe that's live spagnum

Pull the weed out. It does no good.

I bought a box of substrate from flytrapstore 2 years ago. It arrived the color of dirt. Several weeks later after sitting in water they all turned green and fluffy.

Unfortunately your pic totally looks like weed.

Even the highest quality of dried sphagnum is likely to have some weed seeds in it. Be gentle when you pull them out to get all of the delicate roots.

so far i bought dried sphagnum from 3 seller, the first one didnt have weed after planting them for a month, the second one which grows weed had them just after 3 days, the last one is just 1 day old so cant say anything about it yet. Also sellers in my country usually claims their dried LFS is imported from Chile.

i read from other topic that if the weed got too crowded, i should repot the plant
