Mid-summer peak.

This is in a 2' x 2' assembly of flowerboxes; all traps are descendants of a batch of nine Home Depot rescues purchased May 2017, divided and re-potted yearly.

Thanks!

Success in my hands is a testimonial to the resiliency of these plants: I KILL tomatoes, cucumbers, and -- get this -- MINT!

Nothing looks better or as dramatic as a horde of fly traps like this. Very nice and unbelievably uniform as well. Great growing. Did you just divide and replant close to the mother plant?

Thank you.

I do a pretty radical division: completely separate each cluster plant into 5-10 individuals; spread them out quite wide to give them room. Some of the plantlets are tiny, but they all thrive once given their space. I do this in March just as they begin to green-up after dormancy. Uses quite a lot of New Zealand LFSM, and that stuff's expensive! Between my kid going to college and a large VFT collection...

I gave the plants a nice "haircut" to remove dead traps just prior to this pic.

Can you spot the wasp head sticking out of a trap? He was still alive when I snapped the photo, was like "dude, when you're done with the photo shoot, can ya' - like - get me outta here?"

Great pic Apgar! How many years old would you estimate you have been working off this mother plant to get this group?
