Hello
I own two plants and i left them outside for the sun, however when i return them inside, I noticed one of them had the new growth dying, since then it is not doing better and most of the traps are yellowing or even turning black, the rest of them (the long one that grew pretty recently seem fine, but its like they do not respond, meaning one of them closed and since that just didnt open even though there is nothing inside) So the heat probably did this is there something i can do? the other plant is fine

How long did you leave them out and how long have you left them out before?

In the original soil they came in from the shop It looks kind of like compost
It wasn’t problem until now and the other plant is still fine
I was thinking the plant got damaged by the heat and start decomposing which is slowly killing the whole plant ?
I wanted to repott them in winter during dormancy

That's some weird soil. The heat could have definitions taken its toll and burned new growth. I'd just keep an eye on new growth to see how they turn out.

Yes but the small new sprouts died first there do not seem to be any new growth and even time most recent adult traps are starting to turn yellow. The rest of them is pretty much completely yellow and blackening
Is the plant done, should I try to repot it or is there anything to do? I’m aware of the basics but can’t seem to find anything related to my problem
Thank you

yes, they were outside and they caught some prey in some traps on its own, they did not open so far. The other plant even caught a wasp on its own so they are pretty capable.
It seems like the plant is in some sort of survival mode where it first killed the new growth and then the oldest traps are dying next and only the last three adult fresh traps are green. It all happen pretty fast and it is continuing each day

It might be time to uproot the trap and check the rhizome. It should be white with black roots coming off of it. If it is black, then it is rotting and you would need to clean off the rotting part. You might search around the forum. Recently there was a good thread about checking a VFT rhizome for rot and cleaning it up. I have never had to do it so I don't know the details of it.

i will buy the mixture for it tomorrow, would it be a good idea to take it out of the pot for a night cut the rotted parts and leave it in distilled water or just wait until tomorrow ?

Was this plant very wet while sitting outside? It looks to me like crown rot might be setting in.

I would unpot it now, check for rot and clean it, then put it in a bowl with a shallow layer of distilled water.

When you go hunting for soil ingredients, skip the Miracle-Gro products (that company sprays fertilizer on everything). If you can't find any usable peat moss, then grab some sphagnum moss instead. The Mosser Lee brand tends to be very low quality, but the Better Gro orchid moss is good stuff.
