I live in illinois, reported my traps and everything died! But thankfully it stayed alive.

Does this look healthy?

I only use distilled water and rain water.

I mean it's a Giant Fly Trap, can't recall the exact species , I'll have to find out from the place I bought it from!

For some reason I can't edit. Can a mod please delete this post and the Judith Hindle post? Thanks!

Looks pretty good. The glazed ceramic would probably overheat, but looking at the illinois usda zones, you should be fine. If you want, a top dressing of sphagnum moss or CP appropriate sand would keep the roots cooler.

All flytraps are the same species. Think of it like dog breeds. Many distinct forms, one type of organism. That being said without any sort of label it's impossible to tell the cultivar of a Venus Flytrap if it in fact is one. Which means it should be labelled a typical.

I'm guessing B52 but like previously mentioned could be anything. Looks healthy though.
