Hello, can someone list some of the most common or possible reasons why a trap can become black?

Thanks

need photos to really see whats up, but the traps do not live forever(can only close 2-4 times) and they turn black when plant reclaims energy in the leaf.

Sometimes it catches prey that is too big for that particular trap and it turns black, starting in the area where the prey touches the trap.

Yep. And any hard-shelled insects will typically turn the trap black too.

Also, age is the most common reason traps turn black.

I gave snail to a new just open trap. And it became black. Although I savagely remove the shell from the snail
