Just repotted a death cube flytrap and am concerned about the leaves turning black. Traps are green leaves turn black. I have the plant outside where it gets full morning sun but afternoon shade, temps have been in the mid to upper 90’s. Most of the traps have already caught at least one insect. Has some new traps forming so I am hopeful.

You have taken the same approach as I would, tough love. A lot of your existing leaves we will sunburn and die off, but the new growth will be acclimated to the higher intensity of light and be fine.
Keep the media moist, and enjoy the plant that is about to grow.

Hello. Did u a slowly introduce it to full sun? Looks like it got burnt from the full sun it wasn’t used to getting. The new traps will be good to go and used to the environment. The old traps once fully black u can cut Them off if u want.The Plant should be okay just keep up with the water and it should turn out ok. Next time just slowly introduce it to the new environment and u can prevent the blacking of traps most of the time.

It's helpful to know that the traps and leaves will turn black under normal care, too. That's just the nature of these plants. (Repotted box-store plants also need time to recover from soil/light/water trauma, and can look awful in the process.)

Traps can die off after ingesting a bug that was too big or indigestible for other reasons (non-insect meat), or after repeated successful meals, or injury.

Leaves will die off, too. General recommendation is to leave them in place until they are completely withered and crispy dry -- like a stiff little bristle. When they've reached that stage, those crispy stems will just snap off with no effort. If you have to tug then the leaf isn't ready to go.

On larger plants that have plenty of photosynthesis happening, I have snipped all-black traps off healthy leaves, to keep the plant pretty.

Looks like she is doing well now, I’m surprised at how many flies it has been catching.

I'm glad to see that you're fly trap is doing well. These plants are tougher than most people give him credit for, all we need to do is give them the proper media and water.
Your plant looks great, keep up the good work. Hopefully next spring you will have a couple of divisions to expand your collection.
