Hello,

This is my first post so apologies if this is answered elsewhere. I bought a flytrap from Ikea about a year ago.

Today I noticed some strange protrusions from a leaf that I think I may have trimmed. I'm wondering what to expect from these since I have never seen anything like it before.

Thank you!

Every once in a while you may see an odd thing on a leaf, a deformed trap, multiple leaves fused, or some other strange thing. Most times it's just the plant reacting to some stressor. Whether it's from a bug, wind damage, too much water, too little light, mutation, or any of a hundred other reasons, 99.999% of the time it's a harmless one time deal.
Now, if it happens time and time again, look for a source. If no source is found, and you can duplicate it through cloning, then you might have the potential for a new cultivar.
I wouldn't worry unless it starts talking or something. "Feed me Seymour!"
