Hello everyone! I was pulling some black leaves off my VFT, and one came up with part of the rhizome attached. Will my VFT be okay? And are there any precautions I should take?

Help! I'm addicted to carnivorous plants!

Nah, should be fine. I've done that many times, won't hurt the plant.

If you haven't thrown the leaf away yet you can stick it in the soil a baby flytrap might sprout from it. Not sure if you got enough of the rhizome to do it but it's worth a shot.

Thanks Camsdad66, and it's nice to see you again sanguinearocks101! I put the leaf in the soil. I didn't think I could grow anything with it because the leaf was black. I guess we'll see what happens !

You’ll never know until you try.

This happened to me.
Just a small piece of leaf.

I wasn’t even trying to get it to strike.
Was just lazy and threw the dying leaf in the moss.
