True. But they also believe that while many plants can capture insects, they can't consume them. Rather, the insect dies and is knocked off by rain or wind. The body then decomposes, and the nutrients are taken up by the roots.

Correct!

Shepard's purse was a pepper supplement in England. China uses it a lot! I have even eaten it and never knew it was carnivorous (it tastes like peppery grass). The seeds create mucilage when wet, making it capable to catch nematodes, but can't digest it.

Native to South America.
Looks (to me) like a fuzzy turd.
The first one discovered of perhaps the youngest genus of carnivorous plants.

Negative. That one doesn't look like a fuzzy turd, nor is it the first of its genus to be discovered, perhaps the youngest genus of carnivorous plants.
