This statue is the iconic Venus flytrap sculpture is in Wilmington.
The Wilmington Star-News reports that the group Residents of Old Wilmington paid $9,000 to have the metal-and-glass sculpture permanently placed on a downtown corner. The sculpture is especially appropriate, since the plants, made famous by "The Little Shop of Horrors" and other references, only grow along the North Carolina coast.
