I bought a Drosera capensis from California Carnivores almost a month ago. It's recovering well from being shipped, and bloomed overnight! My question is about repotting. My plant came with several plantlet ride-alongs/freebies, which I naturally want to keep alive and thriving if possible! If it was just the one plant, I wouldn't be bothering with the idea of repotting yet, but there are about 7-8 plants all told in the one 3" pot:

The one big capensis I ordered
a small capensis (about 1-1.5" tall)
a small rosetted one (not sure if that one is going to make it...)
about 4 tiny drosera that are probably some kind of rosetted variety.

The tiny ones are SO small, it's not terribly hard to overlook them. So, is it best to wait until they are fully established little plants before I go fiddling with them?

I thought the sundew dies off after flowering...maybe I should repot mine as well. I think the only plant I got from my cape is a bladderwort. dunno if I should keep that or not.

But yeah mine is about to flower, was just gonna grow from some of the seeds and assumed my current plant would die after that.

Oh no! I hope that's not true... I had asked after I bought it if I ought to trim to flower off to better help the plant and was told it would be fine and to leave the flower.

Sundews don’t die after flowering. CA carnivores ships their plants in really crappy peat so I’d suggest repotting

Yeah I figured I was misreading or misunderstanding something there...so I'm keeping my current sundew then. What do you mean by crappy peat, though? I guess my sundew's soil looks..."bleh" (main reason why I wanna get it in a new pot), but my flytrap and butterwort look fine to me...

Their peat is very dense and mucky with a good dash of blah! The moss on top can choke them out too so repotting generally gets rid of those problems

Well I'm repotting my sundew regardless since it does yuck. My Red Dragon's and Butterwort's seems fine, though...maybe I'll get them new pots later this year around winter...
