Good day everyone. I’m a noob when it comes to growing plants and I would really appreciate if you can give me feedback regarding how my plant looks and if the set up is ideal for the plant.

Just got the plant 8 hours ago and it looks like this.

Almost all traps are closed.

Placed the plant in our roofdeck area that gets a lot of sun and some wind.

Any feedback would be highly appreciated. Thank you

Agree with sanguinearocks101, your plant looks very good!

I would suggest to repot it in a larger pot. That very small pot is not ideal for it. Preferably use a pot that is at least 4 inches deep. Anything 8 inches deep or deeper is even better, but of course, takes up much more space.

Unfortunately i cant repot ASAP due to the COVID quarantine in our country. I found a new container but the only growing medium i have is in the small pot which wont probably fill the new one.

Btw i see the roots sticking out the bottom of this container

We're all feeling the pinch of the coronavirus, so, above all, keep yourself safe.
The plant should be fine for a few weeks, hopefully any quarantine will be lifted before too long. However, depending on the conditions prior to you getting it, you may see a downturn before it gets bigger. Give it good care, and don't give up on it.
If you keep it on the roof, in direct light, it may burn the existing leaves. But the new leaves will be used to the higher intensity light and be OK. Keep it moist, not soaked.
In the meantime, see if it's possible for you to order a bigger pot and new moss online. That way you can potentially get stuff to you before the quarantine is lifted.
Good luck.

I really appreciate all the feed back! This plant is definitely one of the bright spots in this dark time.

I just need to clarify how will I know if It’s just moist and not soaked. The pot is on a ‘tray’ of water all day long and I just refill it once a day when the water on the ‘tray’ is dry. Does that suffice?

So a week has passed since I’ve acquired my VFT and it has fell from our rooftop to our 2nd floor and I was forced to repot it using growing media (sphagnum moss and perlite) I was able to buy online.

It’s been slowly dying but there are two leaves budding so I’m still hopeful. Anyways do you guys think this this “sphagnum moss” would suffice and would the excess moss still be able to “live.”

I'm not an expert on growing media but that sphagnum moss doesn't look so good. What brand is it? I got Mosser Lee sphagnum moss and it is very low quality and I have to pick twigs and leaves out of it every time I use it. I even found a living thorny vine plant in there! Almost all cp growers agree that New Zealand lfsm is the best.

It’s not really branded and It is packed in normal plastic 😥. It’s being sold as live sphagnum moss but it was an old stock so it was almost all brown.
