I tried to gently remove the plant from the small plastic cup, but when I did, ALL the roots had ripped off!!!

Will it die? Please tell me a way to save it!!!!

It should make new ones. Plants coming out of dormancy are in repair mode anyhow. Just make sure the rhizome is buried deep enough so your plant doesn't blow or wash away if you have it outdoors since it has no roots to keep it anchored. Keep the soil damp at all times but not saturated.
