Good afternoon everyone!

A new member from South Africa here, also fairly new to carnivorous plants (Started December 2019) with some wild Drosera capensis "wide", I now also have the "white" and regular forms and have seeds of cuneifolia, cistiflora, pauciflora and trinervia. Time will tell if they grow

The main reason I joined is because I am growing very interested in botany (CP's in particular) so have came to seek out knowledge about the South African species to make a field/collection guide to use at a botanical garden where I volunteer. That thread will be up soon.

I'm a Drosera lover, myself.
South Africa has some magnificent species, they're among my favorites.
Here's one of my personal favorites in my collection.
This is a Drosera capensis from Bain's Kloof RSA, a wide leaf variety.
It almost looks like a miniature Palm Tree.

Those are very interesting! I don't live super far from there, must go investigate one day! Do all capensis keep growing up on the main stem like that?

Bain's Kloof seem to grow the most noticeable stem.
Typical and Wide Leaf varieties grow an intermediate stem.
The narrow leaf variety grow the smallest stem.
Just my 02¢ worth based on observations of my cultivated plants.

Quite interesting how all these varieties differ from one another!
