I like hiking, and I've always got my camera with me. I choose my destinations carefully in order to meet rare plants in their natural habitat. Pinguicula vulgaris is actually a quite common butterwort, if you know where to find them. Here's some pics from my last trip , enjoy!

The panorama of the Beskid Wyspowy mountains, southern Poland. A beautiful place to hike with a flora rich in rare species

They are very striking plants:

The plants grow at 1100m above the sea level, on a wet, muddy grassland

Awesome photos Peter! I too do a lot of hiking and now that I live somewhere that there are native CPs in the wild, I've been on the lookout for them.

The area that you live in is gorgeous. Thanks for sharing those photos with us and giving us an idea of what southern Poland looks like. That's an area of the world I've never been to, but it looks incredibly gorgeous!

Haha I lived in Quebec for 10 years, was born there and never seen them. I didn't know they grow there. I've only seen the S. purpurea in the wild in these parts
