I can grow a d. capensis strike from a leaf cutting in about 2 weeks. Its tiny and then takes about 8 months to be good size. I would imagine a flake or 2 is like a gnat or 2. I would give it a few flakes a week and add more if it seems ok. Mine catch little gnats and that seems to be enough.
on the quick reply, there is a icon that says Add files. Thats how you add a image.

Well, it looks about as happy as can be. I love the way the leaves curl.
I crush dried blood worms and mist it with maxsea and make little meat balls. I will just give one leaf a meat ball and often just that leaf will die. But the sundew gets a boost. I have also just layed a few whole dried blood worms on sundews and misted them, and that worked pretty well and didnt kill the sundew leaf. I have made meat balls for some fly traps, but really... there's a point when the plant should feed itself. lol
and this is just my experience... there are much more experienced growers than me. I keep a d. capensis in my kitchen window and I have no gnats.
