He also said that the plant is dormant and that's why it appears so small. And that they've been sending out Ginormous plants that size for years.

Whatever ... As long as I get the missing plant I'll be happy. We'll see what they grow into this summer.

But I doubt I'll be buying from them again.
I'm glad they called, that's kind of a surprise. I'd give them the benefit until summer and see. Hopefully you will get it super fast

Yeah, Damon is the successor to Peter. Nice of him to call you personally and apologize! I do understand the frustration with the missing plant and smallish size of the plant you did get, though.

I too ordered a Ginormous from them a few years back and it was quite small as well, even though it wasn't dormant. So what he says is true about sending out Ginormous plants that size for years. Not that it makes it any better for you :D

ImageImage we've got a trend with them for ginormouses....ginormous'? Also thanks for shipping out my trevs so fast. It'll be nice to have one healthy plant after that freak freeze.

This could be, I ordered 1 Young plant, potted, DCXL from FTS just recently and it came in very small but FTS is very generous and I received 4 DCXL’s that where small. But in the past where I’ve ordered around May, a young plant would be way bigger.

Absolutely, for sure, dormant plants are deceptively small when observed from above ground. When dormant, the real method to determine the true size of a flytrap is to observe the size of the rhizome.

I think you may have had unrealistic expectations for the size. That looks like what I would consider a to be a medium sized dormant VFT. That could explode into much larger growth when it wakes up if it's happy with its conditions. I've been happy with CC in the past, but it's been a while.
