I love carnivorous plant, my favorite are venus flytrap, and utricularia.

Currently I have some Sarracenia, Dionaea and Drosera.

I'm excited to be part of this community and share my experiences with you.

I was lucky and went to Florida once to saw the Pitcher plant bog. A fire was coming so my and friend dig them all up to save em from burning up. We shipped the pitcher plants to conservation person in Pakistan who wanted their protection to. We celebrated with lotz of alcohol later!!!
Wildfires help CPs by killing off brush that would eventually choke them out. But CPs can survive them unlike weeds because they have a rhizome, and survive the flame underground. But there have been fire prevention in bogs, and that is part of the reason why venus flytraps are endangered. I am not sure if you digging them up was illegal, but it would probably have been better for them to be left alone, as fire helps them. Not sure how exporting them out of their native habitat is protecting them.
