Hello. Photos provided. Need some advice please. I bought a Drosera Capensis a year ago and from a straggly little plant he grew great guns and s super healthy all year. Beautiful and dewy, he had over 25 purple flower stalks over the summer.

For the last month he stopped flowering and also stopped being dewy and looks miserable. I thought because he had grown so much he might be rootbound so I re - potted into a much deeper pot. Now in a 5 inch deep and 6 inch wide pot.

But still unhappy. It looks to me like there are lots of separate plants crammed together. I count maybe 10 separate crowns or more. Do these each need to be potted up separately or maybe 2 or 3 to a pot?

Thanks!

The appearance of Drosera capensis will go up and down over the course of a year.

As long as your basic conditions are OK, the plants will perk up in the Spring.

Capes are fine in a community pot, no need for individual pots.

Just remember your big 3.
Lotsa light.
Lotsa very pure water.
Nutrient poor, acidic media.

Those little white specks I can see in the photos might be "aphid husks" (can't really tell but maybe) which might mean you have an aphid problem. If that is the case, then that could be contributing to the plants decline.
