Props to whoever donated the mixed Drosera capensis varieties to the seed bank--10 days and they're already starting to germinate!

This, plus some filiformis and tokaiensis I got from the ICPS seed bank around the same time, is gonna keep me up to my ears in tiny sundews for a good long time. I'll post updates here as they get big enough to actually photograph. I'm super excited to see them all grow!

The mixed variety capensis are from my plants and other donors all tossed into one big mixed envelope.
You have Typical, Red, Alba, Wide leaf, Big Pink x self, Giant x Self, and probably some other stuff tossed in as well.
But the biggest fraction will probably be Typical.

My though was the average beginner would like a variety of CP right off the bat.

That was exactly what I wanted starting out. Thank you and the other donors so much.

It really is a great mixture of specimens.

I forgot which pot I planted them in, I usually label. I do have a pot that nothing came up, so I'm going to assume they're in there lol. Unfortunately, a mass of perlite came to surface and I'm afraid to pick it out and leave it in. I'll eventually pick it out. And eventually I'm sure they'll grow

It's funny nightmare fuel for sure. Like The Brood with angry green dewy babies.

Never sow a whole packet of seeds at once, kids. Learn from my mistakes. At least I was able to find some temporary space for most of them.

This tall skinny red fellow is my personal favorite. I also got some nice vigorous typicals and a couple albinos : )

That Red one at 11:00 in your first picture really jumps out and catches the eye.
If it continues growing larger than the average specimen, the odds are good that it is a D. capensis 'Big Pink' x self that inherited a lot of its parents' characteristics.

It's good to see someone getting nice results with FTS Seed Bank stuff.

You have a pretty good assortment of capensis there.

Good job!

That's the same one in the second pic, and I'm really proud of it! It's a good half inch taller than all the rest, and the reddest of the bunch too. Here it is this morning after recovering some of its dew:

It's a great batch of seeds. Thanks so much for putting it together and sending everything out!

Look at the the second biggest one, a very handsome typical:
