You learn something everyday. I guess to just be precautious with everything then. There's a way to perma ban someone, unfortunately I'm not too tech savvy.

Again, this person is apparently quite young, but there's a certain level of maturity expected when interacting with adult growers that I don't think this person can handle. They (and their alts) already been banned from TF after again having to get their father involved to complete a trade.

The first pic of the cryptanthus pups and momma in the background is mine. I thought it was weird he asked for a trade for anything then so quickly turned down the first offer he got so I got him with this pic as an offer but I'm not him.Don't mix me up with this ilovedrosera idiot please.

I don't really like publicly shaming a banned user, but understand making people aware of a repeat trade offender. I'm conflicted.

Before he was banned, Ilovedrosera donated some seed to our FTC Community Seed Bank.

It was one pack of seed labeled Drosera intermedia New Jersey Pine Barrens.

I looked at it, since then, and it does not appear to be D. intermedia.
I'm guessing spatulata or tokaiensis.
Did anyone out there send him some seeds?

They have been removed from inventory.

Thank god I was too lazy to get my butt to the post office to send him those graomogolensis. I knew from the way his posts were written that it was most likely a child so I decided to just ignore pm's after the initial trade request.

Wasn't this also the user who was trading/buying rare nepenthes/cuttings and then offering them for trade or sale a week later? I thought that was unusual since it happened a few times.

He offered to do a trade with me because I was looking for a Nepenthes miranda. He wanted my fairly large Drosera schizandra and graomogolensis both for a "miranda cutting". Of course I did not respond and purchased one online for like 10$ then after ignoring his offer he responded with this. I could tell something was funky.

He was trying to sell me a Czech Giant that was about a dime size and claiming that the rhizome is 2 inches long for $50. I was like, uh huh. Sureee. If I had went through any kind of transactions with him and he scammed me, I could dispute the charges by calling my bank. It’s difficult if it’s through a trade. When I think about it, it’s quite fishy how he can buy rare plants, claims he has no money, and yet only does trades. And he keeps on buying more rare plants.

Always leave feedback for everything...trades, purchases, giveaways. Just so people know what kind of person they're dealing with.

Very sorry, my intention was not to link to your post specifically! I saw it did that whenon tapatalk so I'm not sure why that happens on mobile. It was supposed to just be a link to their hamata trade thread.

Wow. It all makes sense now. I was in the same giveaway with Chomato. I guess I can stop checking my mailbox now.

Weird how he was a child though. I knew something was up when he typed in a really vague and confusing way, but it sounded more like English was his second language.

Yeah good thing the only thing I lost were capensis plants. He told me they were for a class he was trying to get kids interested in carnivorous plants. Contacted him twice about tracking info, but no response. But glad to look out for that address in the future.

In reply to Shadtowski I sent him some D. Alicia seeds and some mixed cape seeds.

Never heard back from him.

And the line about teaching a class. He was quoting me from an older post. (I actually used to teach at a Montesori school. And did use carnivorous plants for projects and lessons as well as just collecting for fun and to ease my anxiety. Just wanted to clarify as he actually quoted my post back to me during a convo about seeds.) I found it a bit odd but didn't really think much of it at the time. But it looks like he used it more than once.

I haven't used the feedback tool much and I am guilty of not always providing feedback.

Thank you for posting this. Makes me feel a bit better that I wasn't the only one scammed. Still stinks though.

Yeah, I noticed him when I joined... Seems like a young kid with some issues in the head
