Hey guys!!! So I have just been introduced to the world of carnivores plants .. I’m typically a tree ( Oak, maples, and so on) and Japanese maple Guy .. But for my birthday this year the wife got me a small greenhouse and I decided to get and put my nepenthes and other carnivores plants in there. We live not too far outside of Cleveland in Ohio . And gearing up for winter I have been trying to keep things as natural for them as possible . I currently have a humidifier in there . But given the small size of the greenhouse humidity is always high ranging at roughly 99% nearly always. My biggest problem is heat as I can only get it up to around 72° in there in the days and with night lows of 62 to 63 . I only use distilled water and water around two times a week to ensure soil stays most. As far as light goes they are on the south side of the house. I currently just installed a grow light above them to aid in the winter months when there is less light a week ago. They are currently positioned in the south window . However one of them is getting reddish leaves which sort of looks like sunburn and leaves . My current species are.. N. Ventricose one large and one small, N. Maximum, N. Alata , N. Ventricose x Miranda , N. Singalana, with an unknown Serricinea and a handful of your typical Venus flytraps. I also have a N. Fusca, N. Glandulifera, and N. Reinwandtina on the way. Any helpful tips suggestions or ideas to maintain current and stable heating process as well as any tips on the humidity or just general maintenance care would be highly appreciated!! P.S. I know in the pictures the humidity reads different numbers but that’s only because I had opened the greenhouse for a small amount of time but within 15 minutes it’s back up to 99% .

I am no expert, i even stick to the ez neps but I would be scared to go 99% humidity all the time because of fungus and mold.

The North American plants VFT and the sarra are going to need dormancy to live long term. If they don't get it one day they will just run out of gas.

My 2 cents
A fan for air movement
Less humidity
New growth look green so I’m not sure about sunburn
Just put the vft and sars our in the cold for 4 months every year

Thank you guys! what kind of person I be looking out for from carnivorous plants ?? I will try not running the humidifier as much I’ve dropped it down to running it for about 15 minutes every other day and as of right now is down to 94% . Any idea on heat though it’s been only around 61° to a max of 72° .

Seeds received. Thanks Chef and donors!

Counting to infinity.
