I got 7 desert plants in one pot because I want to grow non carnivorous plants, can anyone identify them?
I know one of them is a cactus but what about the other 6.

Also what kind of cactus?

Why do some cacti superficially resemble butterworts?

Idk what they are but the red one is outstanding!

I’m not a succulent expert, but you’ve got what looks like a Crassula of some sort, a Graptopetalum and a cactus that’s been painted red on the tips (probably Mammillaria sp.).

Mexican butterworts have a succulent phase. They are probably evolved from succulents.

What water should I give these plants?

The green leaf plant is a type of jade, watch its leaves when they shrivel like a raisins its time to water, this will teach you how to water that whole mix of arid plants. over watering will lead to killing the roots then plants.

this pic is trimmings of a large jade I have had for ever. I have sold/given 40+ this year. I don't water in summer at all rain is already to much

Agree on all counts. Definitely a Crassula (jade plant). The Graptopetalum may be an intergeneric hybrid but same care, in any event. The red on the cactus, as bananaman said, is dye/paint.

Can I eat a leaf the graptotalum?
Are they edible, I know you can’t eat a jade plant or a cactus but are graptotalums edible?

I have no idea, but its leaves are filled with water that's why the big ones get so top heavy. I have read about people drinking cactus juice to survive the desert.

Convergent evolution
