Hey, so I've always liked VFT and had one for my birthday last year. It didn't work out but now for my birthday this year I got one again. Different supplier, as the first one I got it from Lowe's and this one from a breeder.
Poor VFT has had a very rough start. Second day of having it my brother kicked it and was severely damaged, as all the traps closed and some of them bent. I have no concerns though, as 2 new leaves are growing, but what I'm worried about is some brown spots are on the leaves and there are some parts as if plague was eating on them. Is any of this normal or what should I change?
I live in a dry climate, north of Mexico, and keep the ground moist so it never lacks any water with the harsh sun.

Those traps are dying. Lol I dropped my first vft 3 times consecutively lol. I had butter fingers. The traps will reopen. Make sure you give it plenty of sunlight, direct sunlight.

I know they will die, I also forgot to mention that two traps are closed due to some insect getting caught, but the traps are getting a little dark, is that normal?

Traps can get very dark. I think all of those large traps will die soon enough unfortunately. ImageImage
