Maybe hard to tell but looks like a ball starting to grow. Is this a flower? If so and when it does flower do I want the plant to flower? I know my flytraps I cut.

Thanks!

Sarracenia can take a long time to flower. But as far as I know, growth doesn't affect the plant. mine is a sarracenia hybrid and is flowering now. It's just waking up from dormancy but has great growth with it. I just pollinated it. I'd let it flower. ImageImageImage

Lol, I would let it grow and pollinate it. Then have more baby pitchers.

Yesss! How long does it take to flower though? Any idea? I do think I cheated a little... applied some keiki paste to it. Unless it planned on flowering in Winter...

My asleep grew fairly quick. Just let him get lots of sunlight and he'll go quick. I think once mine reached maybe two inches, it shot up like crazy. I think maybe two weeks give or take. I mean he shot up quick lol. From what I read, he won't set seed until like September or something. Um going to watch this like crazy. I'll have to take another picture for you so you can see inside it.

Thanks guys! So I want to let this flower? And it won't kill or slow the plant like when you let a Flytrap flower?

No, as far I know sarracenia plants get their flower's energy in the fall. From what I gather, the flower starts forming in the year before. My pitchers are growing well even with the flower. I'd let it grow.

My pitchers are over a foot tall and grew in tandem with the flower. I have multiple new pitchers forming now that it's waking up from dormancy.

Some good info in this thread. My purpurea's about to flower. This morning I had a bit of a closer look and it looks like it could possibly be forming two flowers. Or are my eyes deceiving me...Image

That sure does look like two flowers. I could be wrong. Twinsies! I typed that in a seriously valley girl voice. I shouldn't be allowed on my phone this early in the morning. That would be really cool though if it was two flowers.

Twinzies! It appears to be producing two flowers next to each other. Which means... More seeds! ImageImage
