I’ve read conflicting information from forums, many struggle to get their droso past 1 or 2 year mark. A grower from Fly Trap care, https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.flytra ... nicum/amp/, wrote an article about how to care for them.

“Dewy Pines will live as an annual or bi-annual if they are watered year round. If the soil is allowed to dry during the summers season, (after the plant is through flowering) the plants may grow for many years.” Is this true? Do droso need a dry season after flowering?

Unfortunately, this is advice many people have killed their plants with. You shouldn't dry it out after the plant starts flowering, you should keep it fairly dry all the time. Drosophyllum are very susceptible to root rot, particularly when kept too wet or not provided full sun.

Personally I have the most trouble during winter when it takes a long time for the pot to dry out and even under strong grow lights it doesn't seem to be quite enough.
