Coir or coco peat for nepenthes ventrata

So i got some coconut tree in my house so i got plenty of coconuts so i take a look at making coir but im wondering if its safe for my nepenthes ? Also how can i clean it ? Can it be used as substitute for spaghnum moss ? Using the fiber is ok ?Image

Looks a little fine. you would rinse it by fining it a soak in pure water. Then ring out the water. Test the water with a TDS meter. Do this till you get and propriety reading. If it's as fine as it looks it would be good to grow seeds on.

Yes. You can buy a TDS meter online for probably $10.

Found one for like 5$ are they decent also what the proper reading ?

I think that's what I paid for mine. The lower the better. Somewhere around 10 should be good. I use a garment bag. It's a mesh bag that women put there delicates in when they wash them. You can put your core in it soak it then wring it out. Rinse and repeat with fresh water as needed.
