I picked up some Sarracenia psittacina at a local nursery, they are pretty healthy looking. From what I can tell they are in a peat/perlite mix but there’s a lot of algae growing on the top of the soil. Is this hurting anything? If so, should I repot into peat/sand or LFS?

Algae is generally benign, though it may be an indication of suboptimal growing conditions (e.g. too much moisture, lack of airflow, etc).

I suspect, however, that an abundance could potentially pose problems for utricularia or seedlings, but have not personally observed this.

I wouldn't, I would wait until spring.

In the meantime make sure it is getting a lot of direct sunlight.
