That looks very dehydrated, either from lack of water, roots rotting or dessication.

2nd that. Definitely looks too dry. Good watering might save it if the middle isn't dead. Best of luck.

I 3rd that! Definitely needs to be sitting in a tray of water. I would put it in a deep bowl and fill halfway up with distilled water. That will give it a good drink. Hopefully the rhizome hasn't dried out enough to kill the plant.
