Has anybody compared two or more TDS meters to get a feel for how accurate and reliable they are? I rely on mine a lot to assure good water quality, but only have one meter. I'm talking about using two different meters to compare the same water sample and seeing how much they agree.

Are there any growers or forum members with a tds meter in your vicinity?
Put out a call.
If there is, you can get together and compare tds numbers.

Another thoughf......
There is a thread in this subforum about the tds in various municipal areas. There were quite a few listed. Check and see if your local city is in the listings.

Good growing,
Mike

you can mix up a solution (or buy one premixed) of water to calibrate even most cheap meters, you will know the accuracy via the solution if the meter is not accurate it won't match up

i found this link quickly via google to help out, I didn't read it over thoroughly but shows the mixtures you can make (its just table salt/water more or less anyway!)

I have two TDS meter I always get different results they are sometimes 5-10 point different. Mostly rely on the white one but might get the xiaomi as they said it gives a more accurate result only cost $4. These two costs around $2 here in the Philippines if you find a good seller.ImageImage

I've used BlueLab pen for 4 year with no problems. And its water proof. highly recommend.

You really only need a reading that's within 5-10 points anyway, at least for CP purposes. 10ppm water and 20ppm water are both fine.

I ended up second sourcing, ending up with 4 different meters. I gave one away to a cp newbee. The other 3 meters all agree with a high degree of accuracy when measuring water at the low end of the TDS scale. I'll be checking them against the same water samples at higher tds levels as opportunity presents.
