So I got this 'red piranha' from California carnivores maybe two or so months ago, at first it was growing just fine, beautiful traps that grew very fast, my most prized flytrap in my collection really.

Recently though I've noticed that all of the new traps have been coming up a bit wonky, it started with the leaves of the trap being flipped weird, or one side being longer than the other as it grew, but then I started noticing that the rims of the traps are starting to turn black, and theres some suspicious black dots on many of them, and on the newest growth what looks to be almost like bug bites? Also, every single one of these deformed traps has a small split in it's teeth upon opening, almost like its stretching itself or opening prematurely.
I've already ordered some bayer and avid miticide, as I know this is the time of year for mites, but I wanted to get a second opinion

Watered with distilled and occasionally rainwater, both with the tray method and top watering though I let the soil dry slightly and water again in the morning. Full sun outdoors, sometimes brought inside at night or when it gets too hot.
Thank you for any help you guys can provide!

They just look sunburned

The ginormous I got from them did the same thing, I'm pretty sure they grow them in a poorly lit green house or something, wasn't hardened off at all.

By 'the same thing' do you mean all of the symptoms that mine are experiencing? Or just some?

I would have suspected sunburn too, except its been outside for over a month and produced at least 4 healthy new traps since I got it, I would think if it was sunburn from lack of acclimating that this would have shown up much sooner, and that the old leaves would have died off and the new ones would be hardened to the sun. I actually contacted California carnivores asking a few questions including what conditions their plants are grown in, they didn't acknowledge that question at all lol
How long did yours take to recover and how did you go about it?

Probably heat damage or pests. My big behemoth and pinnacle had the same funny looking growth. I repotted them and gave them cool water to drink at night to recover from heat damage. As for the pests I put in Bayer 3 in 1, I put in a tiny drop into their plastic saucer over night. Now, I’m NOT SURE, if pests were involved. But I treated it to be safe.
