My older D. burmannii have just begun throwing up their third round of flowerstalks. They also just passed their first birthday. The first two rounds really set them back because I wasn’t at home to feed them constantly, but they recovered well. I’ve really, really got to repot them — they’re so crowded that some are dying, but I’ll wait until after this bloom to do so.

The seeds I planted in May should be flowering size in a month or two, so I have backup for when the adults die.

Yeah! I did take a really long break from posting here. I'm no longer a super user like I once was, but that's OK (lots of other people here have been more helpful than me).

Thanks for the complement on the ceph. I got it ages ago from FTS, and it's done great. It seems as if this clone is very prone to dividing under my conditions -- in only a couple years, they'll fill up a pretty wide pot.

If you really want to see a pot with too many burmannii, check out this pot of little ones I planted to replace the old ones. I may have sown too densely...
