This is my first time germinating fly trap seeds:)!

I have germinated a lot of nepenthes seeds before.

I am trying to germinate Venus Flytrap and SarraceniaImage

More than 3 Flytraps are just sprouting!

My tips for germinating seeds !

First. Buy the most fresh seeds possible from reliable seeds sellers.

Second. Use live Sphagnum moss for avoiding fungui.

Third keep the humidity up by using dome Image

Heat also helps. My second batch of flytrap seeds (in natural Midwest summer temperatures) is taking much longer to germinate than my first batch, which was on a steady 85°F heat mat night and day. Third batch is back on the heat mat.

Is it possible they get to hot? I have mine out in the sun and temps are in 90's plus they are in a bag. I do open every couple hours to let in fresh air.

Yes. They can cook in a bag. They can cook with a dome also. The only way I would use a bag or a dome is in the shade but definitely not direct sunlight.

Congratulations. I only question #2. Live moss will grow much more quickly than your vft seedlings. They could possibly get smothered or won't get enough light. That would be my concern. I grow mine on a peat/silica sand at 50/50 and it's easier to keep track of the seedlings because you can see them all. And rinsing your medium first really stops any slimy stuff from growing. The little green sprouts really pop off the dark colored peat. I can't imagine trying to see little babies in a tangle of live moss. But good luck and let us know how it goes.

I just wanted to germinate seeds on live Sphagnum moss. Because my house has a lot of fungi pores.. I had so much problems germinating nepenthes seeds from peat moss :(
