So one of my planted cut off flower stalks seems to be growing a new plant at the base while their is still 1 1/2" of green stalk still there.

Do I cut the stalk off now?

Do I wait until the stalk shrivels up black and then replant it?

Leave it. Lucky you. What was the growing condition. I never had a stalk strike

I second leaving it. There are plenty of nutrients it can still get from the stem. I let mine grow until the stem blackened. Then I let it grow some more. It's a nice little clump of clones now.

I say let it grow and replant into its' own pot end of winter/ early spring. Way to go!

Leave it. The little clones will leech nutrients from the stalk until it is a dark shriveled black stalk that falls off when ever so lightly pulled.

Great job getting that to strike in peat. Proves you don't always have to use LSM for cloning.

My accidental leaf pulls also are in peet.

Any green leaf that somehow fell of during repotting or trying to pull black leaves off that showed any sign of white at the bottom I put in a shotglass with peet.

Both pots seem to be growing good over the last month.

And a second stalk started to grow.

Maybe if the third one starts to grow I will name them "Lucky Strike" and "Las Vegas" and "One Armed Bandit"

Congratulations! I've tried with dozens of stalks and have never gotten strikes... Keep up the culture!!
