I am new CP and want to start VFT from seed. Why are sales and your give aways contain so many seeds? It might sound like a stupid question but I am trying to learn. Thanks

Because I have had a bunch of people be incredibly generous with me and I am trying to Pay It Forward, so to speak. I am not going to name names, but Matt and Leah, the people who own this site, are incredibly generous.
And I get to know a few people along the way.
And I like to share.
Mike, the guy who runs the seed bank ought to get some glory. He works hard!

Sorry, I guess I didn't make myself clear. Your giveaway is 45 seeds, why not give just five seeds to 9 people.? Is it because most seeds will not produce plants? I don't have room to grow 45 plants.

While I can’t speak for FlyTrap Hunter, as someone who has run seed giveaways before (mostly sundews), it’s a variety of reasons. Seeds don’t have 100% germination. Even if I have a high germination rate, I don’t know how they’ll grow in other conditions. Logistically speaking, it’s easier to send out only a few bigger packets of seed — there’s less addresses/people to keep track of and you don’t have to spend forever packaging the seeds up. Also, at least when I do a giveaway, I want the person to get a reasonable number of plants. Seedlings can be fragile and die for a number of reasons — I’d rather have a better assurance that some plants will make it to adulthood than send out fewer seeds to more people. It’s nice for people to have plenty of chances to get mature plants.

Thanks bananaman, it's kind of what I suspected, but without actual experience I depend on Masters of the trade like you to raise my learning curve. I will provide a good home to my new sprouts, temp and humidity both at 87, zone 8, New Orleans, one short block from the Mississippi River.
