I just noticed that it looks as though something has chewed at the stall of my VFT! I can’t see any kind of insect but I also don’t know what or where to look for? Anyone able to identify what it could be and does this look fatal to the plant? So far this is the only one that looks to have an damage

I've got a couple leafs like that, not sure if they grew that way or if something was eating them. I don't worry about it.

I would be more concerned with the fact that your petiols are real wide and the traps are super small and not developed. Usually a sign of low lighting conditions.

I had no idea that was a sign of that, I’ve been trying to get them more exposure to light, but my apartment is surrounded by trees so it’s hard to get any good direct sunlight so I have to compensate with an artificial light. Any idea what kind of bulb is best for VFT?

And check Craigslist in your area for grow lights. I picked up a 2-foot T5 bulb and fixture (retail $75) and a seedling heat mat (retail $33) for $30.
