For the sase would it be best to send a padded envelope to make sure the seeds are not crushed?

He uses pieces of corrugated cardboard to frame the seed packets so they don't get crushed. It works quite well and doesn't require any extra postage.

So excited for my order of d. capensis "Red" then after a month ordering the one I really wanted d. spatulata (hard part will be deciding which one). Been a lurker of this forum off and on for four years. Should have joined sooner but I'm really thankful for the hard work you put into this project Mike, and the kindness of others and yourself for donating so everyone can enjoy expanding their collection and sharing with others.

I want try some more seeds. I've really enjoyed the ones I've received already. I realize this is my 3rd time ordering from the seed bank. I don't want to be a seed hog, so only send them if there is enough for everybody. I was thinking of getting the Drosera natalensis - 18 pkg .

You can order seeds every month, go for it!

The Seed Bank's purpose is for people to expand their collections.
I have set it up so it's not too much work for me, it's a labor of love.

If you're frugal, you can time your requests and request one pack on the last day of a month, a different species on the first day of the next month.
Send in one sase and both seed packs can go in one envelope, saving two stamps and envelopes.

Besides that, seeds have a finite lifetime, even stored in the fridge.
If you take the seeds, grow them, and donate seed when yours mature, then the Seed Bank is restocked with fresh seeds.
This keeps the cycle going.

Good growing,
Mike

U. bisquamata and U. subulata grow like weeds for me. But ant Utric I've tried to grow has either died, disappeared, or failed to germinate.

My subjective answer is the ones you want to grow, won't. The ones you don't want to grow, you can't get rid of.

:)

I can grow Sundews, but not much else.

Good growing,
Mike

Hey, the sase link isn't working. Are we just folding a stamped and addressed envelope into another envelope (not counting the info sheet we send too) and mailing it out to the manager? I just want to make sure I get the right envelope and postage. I'll be honest, I literally never mail anything. Ever. I should be ashamed as a 30 year old lol.

Yeah that’s it. Put your address on the one folded up inside and Mike’s address on the outside envelope. Easy.

Is there an updated list of the seed bank? I want to prepare for a spring planting of an easy to grow VFT, possibly King Henry x ? Your help and advice is appreciated.

I think the original post is continually updated. It looks like the only VFT seed they have are "typicals"

If we grow plants from seed, and have more of that plant than we want to keep, are we allowed to sell those extra plants? Or do we have to give them away?
