Hey avogel here,

I introduced myself a couple weeks ago, and am a very new member. i just wanted to update the growth of my typical Venus fly Traps that i cheated, and got from lowes. they are doing very well, and have divided. i now have two rossetes, that you can see in the pictures. They receive fresh rain water every week, by letting them sit in a container of 1/4 inch of water for a few hours. the sphagnum peat moss, and silica pool sand draw up the water nicely. the rainwater keeps the PH up as well. I just wanted to show how much the traps have excelled in a month. I am really impressed with their growth. thanks for looking!
enjoy the pictures!

Plus interesting things I have learned about fly traps are
1: fly's and other insects digest the quickest, within 10 days, spiders, tend to take over 20 days, in one case
2: Some traps close way slower than others
Great plant to own. Even a High schooler like me can grow them! its like the only plant i can grow ironically!
Thanks, Andrew

Hey!
Thanks for the reply, It has both to be honest. When I'm home, I put it outside in water, and supervise ( So the Goats don't eat them) and in the evening, or when i'm not home, i put them under an ordinary fluorescent. so a good photo period is acheived. Thanks for the questions, glad to answer any
