The VFTs and sarrs are outside in full sun. Everything else is inside right now.

What I had in the collection at the tail end of last summer was easily able to handle some intense 90F days. Since the plants will have a gradual acclimation to the desert environment this year, I don't foresee any major issues until the temps creep toward 100F-105F. At that point, some plants will want filtered sun or morning sun only. Things will get creative when it hits 110F. I'm more worried about the VFTs than the sarrs during the worst heat... though the S. purp. montana will require a close eye when the 90s hit.

That Maroon Monster will stall out come mid summer when you get over 95°F. It sounds like you got a plan already, but just to let you know.

Great start for a collection!

Thanks for the heads up, boarderlib! I'll be sure to keep a close eye on the Maroon Monster when the hot weather hits. Something tells me it will be taking up residency on a windowsill in a few months. ;)

This mature SD Kronos should put on quite a show during the growing season. Its traps are already quite large! It is the only VFT I have remaining in a larger 20oz styrofoam cup... because its roots stretch that far! :)

How’s the weather there in Vegas. I have a friend that lives there I think and she says it is 100+ sometimes.

We had high winds the last two days, but otherwise it's been very hot and dry! More or less 100F for the last few weeks.

We should almost reach 110F this week. The closest experience I can give you of 110F heat is to open a hot oven and stand back. That wave of heat is exactly what it feels like. :) Thank goodness next week will be cooler... only the 90s. Everyone will appreciate the break... CPs included!

That one came from Bristol. It's a fresh division that needs a season or two to really settle in. One small trap and some phylodia so far but the rhizome is busy creating growth points, and I'm expecting great things from it in the future. :D
