I got some gemmae of Drosera.
I want to start these by Tissue Culture.

But I cannot find how I sterilize Gemmae on web sites.

Can I sterilize it by bleach (I used to use for seeds) ?
Or should I use mild sterilization media like weak hydrogenperoxcide ?

Please give me some information or your idea.

I get four kinds of pygmy drosera and 5 gemmae for each.

Um.. ( I can't remember well,) I did;

A: 5min in approximately 1~2mg of benzimidazole in approx. 40ml of sterilized water, and 5min 10% bleach. (and rinse, of course.)
B: 10min 10% bleach and rinse.

Both aorked well, but method B could be kill some gemmae. About 10~20% of gemmaes are killed by method B.

Please understand my English ability :)

I will do like this.

Nice one! How do you go to propagate them? Only growing pygmy drosera in vitro doenst make sense to me. Or was it a "just for fun" trial?

I’m not sure but they prefer soft medium for their root.
When I replate them just put the plant on TC medium.

both. I enjoy this trial.
I wanna try to keep them healthy in vitro, and then propagate them if I can.
some of them made callus on hormone free medium.Image

some of them died but I have no idea cuz same gammae and same medium and same place I kept, I found both fine and bad.
