Like riveraXVX I sort of misunderstood your question too, so let me amend what I wrote before and say you can grow most American carnivorous plants except, obviously, those that need a cold stratification. So most Sarrs are out, Darlingtonia might grow or not, and the temperate pings are out. Most of the temp. Drosera have a tropical variety but I don't know how that would work in your climate. Still, they might be worth a try. If I were you, I would stick, at least at first, with the North American and the South African stuff, since it's (mostly) easy to get seed, readily germinates and isn't too expensive. Also, if you're worried about too much sun on you baby plants I would start the seed in the bright shade and move things around as needed.
