So a few months ago I got thrips from a Walmart plant. I misidentified them and took forever to get them under control. And then I lost some plants :( They are back despite the plants being sprayed with bayer 3-in-1 systemic 2x a month. They aren’t just after my CPs now, not they are going to my succulents. My plants are kept outdoors so I think that isn’t helping. Any ideas to help rid them?

You could try beneficial bugs...”pirate bugs”, ladybugs and lacewings

You would have to spray more often than that
I think to kill them you're supposed to to it once every three days

During the summer we have plenty of lady bugs, but still got thrips. I read the package and it said every 14 days. I also diluted the mix by 1/2. I’ll start spraying every 3 or 4 days. They aren’t bad anymore, just not gone.

If I remember correctly, the problem with eradicating thrips is that they lay their eggs under the surface of the leaves - so contact poisons can't get to them. You've got to repeat applications until there's no (surface living) nymphs or adults left alive to breed, which is where the "every three days comes from".
