I got one Sarracenia rosea coming in mail and I wanted to now how you guys grow them, I live in Puerto Rico and is always tropical and I want to know if they need dormancy or can grow year around?

They will need dormancy akin to USA zone 8, otherwise they may get exhausted in a number of years.

without proper dormancy yes most likely, but it may take a while

No: it's possible to induce dormancy in tropical climates too. Again, I don't have any personal experience with this, so I hope some people living in tropical zones can chime in, but I believe that gradually decreasing water availability can cause the plants to go into dormancy. Also, if you have some way of reducing the photoperiod, you could induce dormancy that way. Then, stick your plant in a plastic bag, put a few damp strands of peat or sphagnum moss in, and throw it in the fridge for a few months.

My Very Lazy Dormancy Method:
1. Reduce photoperiod (Maybe 3 hours of light or less)
2. Water less often.
3. Reduce temps a bit (optional)

You dont have to fridge it.
