Hey All,

So I've got a dilemma on my hands. With the summer now officially come to a close, I need to decide whether or not my plants will make it through the winter in their current conditions.

So I have one large pot that holds a few different types of cultivars. One in particular (the oldest and deepest roots) began rotting thanks to some really wet weeks with little sun at the start of the season. None of the other plants in the pot show an signs of rot, just the one as new growth pops up and turns black. I was hoping to just suck it up since it already has produced a bunch of healthy divisions and I would just repot come spring, however, the other day I noticed a small mushroom growing in the pot as well. I don't think there are enough nutrients to hurt the plants in the pot, there shouldn't be any at all. I'm fairly convinced the mushroom only grew from wet conditions over a few recent days.

Still. The question remains, if I let the plants continue into dormancy in their current medium, should I be OK? I plan on replanting going into Spring. Is this too long? Or should I be safe? I've attached some photos. Any advice is appreciated.

It really doesn't look like rot.. and it doesn't look that bad. If you are really concerned the best advice is to repot it and remove all the blackened parts. But my bet is that you will find a healthy white rhysome. I don't think a mushroom growing in a pot is that unusual. I get them popping up now and then. Mine have the same thing going on as they start to enter dormancy. I just get in there and snip all the black dead leaves and traps. I see all kinds of healthy growth and even new traps starting in the center. And your medium looks good. :D

I'm by no means an expert but that plant looks good to me, cleaning up of the dead materials if you wanted but the rest of the plant looks healthy unless I'm missing something
