Hi everyone, so as you know I got my big mouth vft, and not sure which is best trap to feed and how many as there's a baby there starting too!! lol. Should I feed baby first??Image

Well I tryed to feed the small baby one but would not close at all, and it looks like there's no trigger hairs lol. So fed bigger one. Why did it not close??

They probably still share the same rhizome so you can feed just the mother plant and the baby plant will still get some nutrients.

There's a heightened suspense seeing the bright red traps hungry ready to snap, waiting open Then i get ticked off if I see the plant caught something... like the thrill is over so fast.

we only have a few traps that are exceptionally large compared to the rest of our plants (a couple B52 traps that are just a haaaaaaair over 1" and 1 single trap on our larger pinnacle that is also just a touch over 1") they look so massive even at that size compared to the rest and anytime they are open I am like phew....look at you! each time I walk by... but they dont tend to stay open long outdoors here haha. then its the patiently awaiting reopen!

I think my biggest traps are 1" that's on both my b52 and my big mouth, maybe one slightly bigger on b52. I always looking waiting for closed traps to open lol. The ones set off accidently, usually open 2-3 days fairly quick. The ones that have been fed longer, some that I've fed 2 week ago are still closed but nice and green

I love the big mouth you got BTW, its a nice looking plant! if it hadn't been already its already on my "wishlist" haha

Thanks it's doing well lots of new traps forming. New traps forming on all of them got my sundews coming tomorrow yey!
