Hi

I save rain water from my house roof directely to a water butt so i can water my sarracenia
i noticed that my water had debris in it , which in time would make my water smell
so i came up with this home made fillter which can be detached and cleaned
now my water is clean

what parts i needed to make filter,

1 Water Butt Rain Diverter
2 Piece of plastic pipe for extention
3 Haberdashery plastic mesh -- 14 count ( count means how many holes per 25mm squaure )

sorry photos not in correct order

Hi
The item which the yellow arrow is pointing to was just a self leveling leg used on furniture
I had one lying about
You can use any bolt
This used to stop the diverter from accidentally sliding of

When it time to clean the filtet you only had to release the bolt and slide the drain pipe diverter of to clean it
